The Mossman Dreamtime Gorge Walk is a unique experience where visitors are taken on a walking journey to sites with cultural significance to the Ngadiku indigenous people. The walk leads along private, meandering paths through the stunning rainforest and past traditional huts. Walks are guided by experienced interpretive indigenous guides who will entertain guests with legends and stories from the Dreamtime. Bush food sources, making of bush soaps, ochre painting, and traditional uses for plants will also be demonstrated.
The walk starts with a traditional smoking ceremony intended to cleanse and ward of bad spirits and is concluded with traditional bush tea and damper bread made from seasonal grains and nuts, and cooked in the ashes of a fire. Tours last approximately one-and-a-half hours and depart at frequent intervals during the day.
