Triabunna is the largest town on the east coast of the Australian island of Tasmania. Only 84 kilometres northeast of the state capital Hobart, Triabunna is the gateway to the Maria Island National Park and offers some excellent activities for visitors to enjoy. Visit the Seafarer’s Memorial on the Foreshore and then fish, sail, surf or swim at Triabunna’s beaches, before heading through to Orford (five kilometres away) to sample the goods at Darlington Vineyard and relax on deserted, tree-lined Raspins Beach. Ferries to Maria Island National Park depart from the Triabunna Marina, and this gorgeous wilderness area is home to top-class bushwalking trails and excellent wildlife viewing opportunities, with 80 species of birds and native Tasmanian animals protected within its borders.
